Awesome napolitana-style pizza, good wine, friendly staff .. always coming back when in Villanueva de la Canada
Good treatment from the staff, quite a variety of pizzas, with little waiting time and quite delicious. We have tried the calzone and the diavola, both very good. The dough is very rich. For dessert we tried the cheesecake and lotus cookie, very good too. Good quality/price ratio, about 20E per person. Advisable
Amazing experience. The staff is super nice and helpful. The place has an amazing vibe and the food was delicious.
The pizzas were light and delicious. The service was excellent. We loved the food. The burrata salad was yum
CLAY is simply AMAZING all around! From the location to the gorgeous interior to the friendliness of the greeter (which happened to be Francisco the owner) to the kindness & expertise of the staff and of course the FOOD!! Oh my. CLAY exceeded all expectations. My husband and I are retired and full-time travelers from California USA, having visited many parts of the world over the past few years. We know an excellent place and we know where we hope to visit again. And again. This place is just that. We were lucky to get to meet the owner Francisco (Curro) as he greeted us from the start. What a nice young man that has put his heart and soul into this restaurant. You can tell the pride he has for this project from the huge smile on his face. Even though he was extremely busy he still took the time to warmly welcome us. Taking our adult daughter with us, we were seated promptly in our reserved table for three (we made a booking a day before for a Friday evening dinner). Our server greeted us and took our drink orders of beer, wine and sparkling water. Drinks were brought to us in a timely manner and our order was placed for food. The three of us shared a sandwich to start - as an appetizer. It was the Jamon York & Provolone which included manchego cheese & tomatoes but the kicker...we asked for it without the ham. Yes the kitchen accommodated our request to remove the meat to make the sandwich vegetarian!! How cool is that?! It proved that CLAY can and will make menu changes for food desires and needs (thank you!). For our mains we wanted to share a salad so we chose the Caprese with arugula, tomato, mozzarella, capers, and it was served with homemade bread sticks. All such fresh ingredients. The three of us of course had to have a pizza. That’s what we came for! So the choice was a ‘Pizza Genovese’. It came to us baked to perfection. The pizza dough is exactly like it should be. Thin crust, baked to a perfect toasted temperature and topped with incredible high end ingredients including a huge ball of Burrata cheese. The taste of this pizza was as if we were instantly transported to Naples Italy. The dough was Masa Madre, or sour dough crust. Like REAL ITALIAN pizza!! Yummy. One would think we would be full. We were. Extremely full. But since CLAY does not rush us from our table, we sat and visited over another beer and more wine and then decided to share not one but two desserts between the three of us. Oh I’m so glad we did. All housemade and extremely good. We chose the tiramisu - how could I resist right?! After tasting our dinner, I just knew the desserts would be excellent and I was not disappointed. My husband especially enjoyed the second dessert, a handcrafted warm cookie with vanilla ice cream. CLAY will be on our list to make a return visit each and every time we pass through Madrid. Actually I think we will make an excuse to go to Madrid just to eat at CLAY, yep it was PERFECTO! (I just wish I had taken more photos instead of devouring it all!! Next time...)
It was our first visit and it won't be our last. We went with my son and the truth is that all 3 of us loved it! The place is cozy and modern, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the most important thing is the food...the ingredients are fresh and of quality, the pizza dough is good. They also have Italian beers to accompany your pizza. We will return without a doubt!
Amazing pizzas and service!
I ordered the Four Cheese and Honey Pizza, a whole experience of flavours, and I'm planning to come back to continue enjoying the other recipes!!! Viva la Pizza !!!!
